The Georgetown University Hospital Diabetic Limb Salvage Conference will present the 2011 Distinguished Achievement Award in Diabetic LimbĀ Salvage to Accelecare Wound Centers' Chief Medical Officer, Dr. William Ennis, DO, MBA, FACOS.



The Georgetown University Hospital Diabetic Limb Salvage Conference will present the 2011 Distinguished Achievement Award in Diabetic LimbĀ Salvage to Accelecare Wound Centers' Chief Medical Officer, Dr. William Ennis, DO, MBA, FACOS.

In addition to serving as the Chief Medical Officer for Accelecare Wound Centers, Dr. Ennis is currently professor of clinical surgery, division of vascular surgery, chief of the section of wound healing and tissue repair at the University of Illinois Chicago; Medical Director, Comprehensive Wound and Disease Management Center at St. James Hospital and Medical Center and the Crestwood Care wound sub-acute unit.

Dr. Ennis founded the Nation's first academic; physician based fellowship in wound care at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is the immediate past president of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care. He is also a member of many editorial boards for several publications; Dr. Ennis is the author of more than 75 journal articles and other publications.

The award will be presented at the fifth annual Diabetic Limb Salvage Conference set for September 22-24, 2011, at the JW Marriott Washington DC, sponsored by the Georgetown University Hospital/Med Star Health.
